Product / Usage & costs

Keep the work
worth the spend.

Understand model usage, keep an eye on recurring work, and use your provider’s billing controls alongside Zipper’s usage views.

A practical starting point

Learn the cost of a task
before scaling it up.

01

Start with a small run.

Choose a task with a clear endpoint and review its usage. A long conversation, repeated retries, or several working agents can all add requests.

02

Watch the recurring work.

Review the cadence and output of routines. A summary that produces little new information may not need to run as often.

03

Check provider billing.

Use your provider’s current prices, limits, and invoices as the authority for charges. Reconcile displayed usage with the account you connected.

Put it into practice

Give expensive work a clear stopping point.

Define what the agent should produce, which checks are necessary, and when it should report a blocker. More agents, broader prompts, or open-ended retries can increase cost without improving the result.

The workspace’s usage display helps you notice activity and spending patterns. Availability and accuracy depend on the connection and what usage information the provider reports. Do not assume a displayed amount is a final invoice.
